Al has been active and a participant in Fantasy Camps for the St. Louis Cardinals and Baseball Legends dating back to the mid-'80s These camps have been held in St. Petersburg and Jupiter Fl., along with mini-camps at Busch Stadium I and II. These camps have enhanced the Cardinal fans by allowing them to meet and play with former Cardinal Players. Cardinal fans get to hear stories and establish relationships with former players. Al has been instrumental in developing and promoting the Camps. Some former players who participated are Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Curt Flood, Kenny Reitz, Ozzie Smith, Mike Tyson, John Tudor, Danny Cox, Gene Oliver, Joe Cunningham, and Ted Savage to name a few.
